2. What personal data we process
Tester application: name, email address, phone number, town or city, the dog's breed and age, the dog's main purpose and activity level, the GPS or tracking system in use, the desired operating range, a description of situations of need, an indication of willingness to take part in the paid testing programme, and the applicant's own written motivation.

We also store the time of submission, the type of contact, the language of the form, the processing status and DogBrake Oy's internal notes on the progress of handling.
3. Purpose and legal basis of processing
The data is processed to handle tester applications and select testers, to respond to contact messages and to communicate about the test programme. The legal basis is the consent of the data subject (submitting the form and the consents given in it) and DogBrake Oy's legitimate interest in responding to enquiries sent to it. The data is not used for marketing or profiling, and no automated decisions are made on its basis.
4. Retention period
Tester applications are retained for no more than 24 months from submission. General contact messages are retained for no more than 12 months. Data is kept longer only where a statutory obligation requires it. Unnecessary data is deleted.
5. Data security and processors
The data is stored in a protected database and can only be viewed by named DogBrake Oy personnel using personal credentials. The connection to the site is encrypted.
We use the following processors of personal data: Supabase (database and login service, servers in the EU, Stockholm region) and Vercel Inc. (website hosting and technical operation, a US-based provider). Website fonts are loaded from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited), which means the browser's IP address is transmitted to that service.
For transfers involving US-based providers we rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or another transfer mechanism permitted by the GDPR. The data is not sold or disclosed to third parties for marketing purposes.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access the data concerning you, to rectify incorrect data, to request erasure, to restrict or object to processing, to receive your data in a portable format and to withdraw your consent at any time. You can make requests by calling the people listed on the Contact page. You may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman, tietosuoja.fi).
7. Cookies
This site uses no analytics, advertising trackers or other non-essential cookies. We do not track visitor behaviour or build user profiles.
Only technically necessary storage is used: when an administrator logs in, the login session is stored in the browser so that the admin session stays valid. This applies only to DogBrake Oy admin users. Because no non-essential cookies are used, the site has no cookie consent banner.
8. Changes
We keep developing the site and the product, so this notice may be updated. The current version is always available on this page.
